Hall sensor diagnostic procedure??

Does anyone have a diagnostic procedure for the hall sensor?

I was working on the urquattro this weekend trying to troubleshoot my
idle issues, and the will no longer start (no spark).  I have checked
everything (sensors, wiring, etc.) except the hall sensor and the
ignition control unit, and I suspect the hall sensor may be toast.
If anyone knows how to check it and/or knows how much the repair kit
costs, I would appreciate it.
