Do they wipe the whole windshield and always stop in the same spot?  Mine 
did that when I acquired it, it was the post on the motor drive, the nut was 
loose.  It's a tapered, splined post, exactly like the ones that drive the 
wiper arms but with twice the work load.  It's under the fragile, plastic 
cover in front of the windshield, driver's side.  Good luck!
