I missed the original post.  I probably blew past it before realizing that
my V8's wipers recently slipped also.  If it stops wherever you turn off the
wipers, then it is probably some relay or something I don't know much about.
This is supposed to keep the motor going until the park position.  If it
continues to a spot where it stops, then the mechanism has slipped from the
motor shaft.  Remove the wiper mechanism from the motor (or is it the motor
from the mechanism?) and put it back together with the wipers parked
properly.  Tighten the nut enough that it doesn't happen again.
