Re: S4 Transmission Trouble

Dan,

I had a similar problem years ago on my '90 80q where it was hard to get
into
first, and my local Audi dealer (Danbury, CT) replaced the "ball joint"
(could
be wrong on that part name) in the linkage for $300. I tried to drive
the car
yesterday, and at this point I can't get the car out of first gear.

Do you know if I can see or get to the linkage through the interior of
the car and not drop the transmission (clearly out of my skill set)? Or
should I suck it up and have the dealer tow it in?

Thanks again,
Alan
