First, great to hear that you walked away from this accident without a
scratch.  As others have pointed out, cars can be easily repaired or
replaced, but people are irreplaceable.

Having said all that, I hope the cops threw the book at the senile idiot
who destroyed your fine vehicle.  Failure to keep a safe following
distance, negligence, speed too fast for conditions, and driving without a
clue are charges that immediately come to mind. 

BTW, how did you know that the Seat belt pre-tensioners activated?
