I prefer to think that I have different criteria than most, but the
description is close enough.

As bad as a lot of American cars are, a Golf has only recently become an
option for most people. Why? Because in the 80's and early 90's VW
reliability was pathetic(Yes I have experience, 2nd hand but I was the one
trying to fix the thing for good friends). Even VW admitted it, both in
interviews I've read and through marketing programs with Trek bikes(bike as
lifeboat, interesting idea).
I'm very glad to see VW back on track since cheap Japanese cars have gotten
really boring(actually almost all Japanese cars have gotten really boring).
