RE: Key Switch

When the start feature of my 86 Coupe GT key switch went out (Most handy
feature, just ask the guy who had to push start me 20 times one night at
work delivering), I took one look at it and decided it would be too much of
a pain to operate on. So I shoved in two 10 gauge wires: one into the
constant +12V, one into the start terminal; and touched them together to
start the car. This got to be a pain when I loaned the cars to others, the
look on their face when I told them the starting procedure told me I had to
do something different. So I bought a big button chrome push switch and
set it into the dash just below the key switch. Drilled the hole perfect
and set it in there so it looked stock (This type of engineering probably
qualifies me for Team Door Handle at Audi). Worked great as long as I
owned the car (Hell it was easier to use than the Audi switches are, turn
the key to start, push the big button). When I sold the car the new owner
thought it was stock.

So if you have/see a 86 Coupe GT Anniversary Edition with a chrome start
button, let me know, it used to be mine, could be in New York or North
Carolina area.
