4kq steering problems
My '86 4kq has been having some strange steering problems. Driving down
the road, when I turn sharply to the left and then straighten out, the
steering wheel becomes cocked slightly to the left. When I turn sharply to
the right and then straighten out, the steering wheel becomes cocked to the
right. I've replaced both tie rods and the suspension on the car. My only
thought is that maybe the steering rack is going. Are these symptoms of a
bad steering rack? One other thing I've noticed is that when I turn the
wheel sitting still, the power steering makes that high pitched noise. Any
advice would be greatly appreciated.
