I probably was not being very clear ...

Initially, I am changing oil/filter at 1K, 2K and then 3K
miles, to avoid potential clogging due to loosening of
deposits from conventional oil..

Normal oil/filter change intervals are 3K mi/3 mo.

I am avoid extending this interval with synthetics because,
even though the base stock is very durable, additives tend
to break down after 3K miles and you are still accumulating
contaminates in the oil.
