Team Doorhandle on engine design?

I've commented on this before, but mine failed today so I had to fit
one from MB001293.

Family picture AQS/88/1/45/20_00, item 26.  "Water pipe, return".

It's the pipe that brings water back to the engine from the turbo.
It starts off aircraft-grade - banjo bolt with ground mating faces
and crush washers, serious piece of crimping ...

And then 1" later it attaches via a hose clip!

Obviously someone dug it from a parts bin, chopped the end off, and it
fitted.  Then it became a 'part' in its own right.

Question for the gurus - where was this bastardised part pinched from?
