Could have been that Audi has it over here for something.  I was driving up
Mt. Evans (just outside Denver) a few years back and spotted a "normal" A3
in one of the parking lots.  It had US plates (can't remember what state),
but also had a bunch of computers on the dash and passenger seat.  I believe
in the 3 times I've driven up to Mt. Evans, that I've seen manufacturers
testing up there 2 times.  Last time I was there I saw a couple of VW Polos
zipping around.

On a totally unrelated note, there were quite a few people who bet that my
local dealer (Stammler in Boulder, CO) would charge me to reset the oil
service indicator on my 95 A6.  Well, they did it for free.  And they said
they'd push the interval period out as long as possible so it won't go off
every 3k miles, or however often it goes off.  Kudos to Stammler (no
affiliation, etc...).
