Last fall I did the same job on my 86 4kcsq w 145,000 miles,
except for the strut housings. My cost was:

Outer CV boot kit        16.95 x 2
Inner CV boot kit         21.95 x 2
Ball joints                     42.95 x 2
Tie rods                       89.95 x 2
Strut bearing, blue        39.95 x 2
Boge Turbo Gas struts 79.95 x 2
Strut boot kits              29.95 x 2
Control arm bushings      8.95 x 4
Wheel bearings            59.95 x 2
Rotors, ATE                34.95 x 2
Pads                            30.05 x 2
Guide pin boot kits         8.95 x 2

Sub-total                   946.90

Machine shop labor   150.00
4 wheel alignment        50.00

Total                        1146.90

I also did the front at the same time.  The cost was less because
the parts are more common.  The strut housings I just cleaned and
repainted.  I would want to see some serious rust or damage
before I would replace them.

BTW I got most of the parts from Blau.
