	Went through a similar situation when I bought the '84 4KQ from John 
Mallick. The rear doors had been used seldom enough that salt corrosion had 
taken over the latches. I wound up removing the rear door panels to get 
access to the latches from inside the door. If I recall correctly we used 
most of a can of penetrating oil (aerosol) inside the two doors. They did 
eventually work free, I think it took about two hours to get everything done. 
	Our LR door was exactly as you describe because the metal "pull" had 
come out of the latch recepticle. Took a bit of "fishing" with the metal rod 
to catch the latch again, but it was possible -- with the inner panel off. 
This also means taking out the rear seat for access.
