More 4KCSQ questions

Thanks for all the replies on the 4K shift linkage post I sent. If I figger out a cheap fix, I'll 
send it out. I wonder if there is a kit for the Quantum that would work.....

While I'm at it...

I'm in the process of doing the whole timing belt, water pump, seal thing and decided to change 
the gasket on the oil pump. What a PITA! Drop the front subframe, remove clutch inspection 
plate/brace, remove oil pan etc.. My question is, the previous owner had the pan replaced, and 
when it was done, the shop used both a gasket and permatex (silicone). Is this correct? I was 
planning on just using a bit to stick the gasket to the pan while I was putting it back in 
position.
