RE: Urquattro wheels/tires - less is better!?!?
interesting conclusion jouko. but also in line with thse of a bloke (who i
met up with again last week), who is bringing in hi-po subie's from japan to
nz.
he removes the straight-from-sti 17" wheels, fits 15" ones, and removes the
bilsteins and fits the oem subaru shocks.
the cars handle much better he reckons. paddy is an (very good) ex-rally
driver (recently retired)...
of course, a lot of his pimply-faced clients, then go and replace the 15"
wheels back with 17's....

I've had a few days now to evaluate the Pirelli P-Zeros Asimmetricos
(225/50ZR15) mounted on my new 8x15 Ronal R8's. I previously ran 215/45ZR17
Goodyear Eagle F1's on 8x17 BBS RS II's on my car, and the differences are
significant. As expected, the ride is more compliant and quieter, but at
the same time the steering response and and ultimate grip seem to have
improved at the same time.
