Time to share something with the list ...

As I think one or two know already, there are some pretty big changes
coming up in my life.  My wife and I are divorcing.

This is going to have some pretty dramatic effects.  In English law
(see http://www.dterry.demon.co.uk/matcaus.html ) the wife gets most
of the assets.  So the 'family seat' (it was my mother's house) has
to be sold.  I will be going from a fixed existence with roses trained
up the walls and 19 rooms (six bedrooms) to what will probably be (at
least at first) a semi-nomadic existence.

All that you can imagine filling a house that big (nah, let's keep it
just in case) also has to go.  Simply sorting it all out is going to
take months.  A whole raft of this stuff _could_ have gone at any time,
but we never saw the need.

Like everyone, we're trying to keep it non-acrimonious and the lawyers
are trying just the opposite.  We have constraints on how nasty we can
be to each other, though - we're first cousins and her mother and father
have done duty as surrogates since my own died.

Whether the quattro will stay - I don't know.  I may not have the time
in future, and I certainly won't have the support facilities.
