RE: Heater Valve
They do make an all metal heater valve that is operated by cable rather than
vacuum. But IME, the range of motion (open to closed) on the valve was
greater than the motion provided by the cable. This prevented the valve
from fully opening or closing, depending on where you clamped the cable down
initially.

For the type 44 and its predecessor, the heater control valve is
vacuum-controlled. If your Coupe came with a cable-controlled valve, I
imagine there's an aftermarket version of it, too. Or is a
cable-controlled heater valve another unique feature of your car?
