Wheels/Brakes for S6

Anyone with experience that can help, tia!!

I am upgrading the brakes on my S6 to 330 MM +/- (Porsche biturbo if
they're available for sale) and want to buy new wheels first as my tires
are worn  now.

I have heard from a few (suposedly) qualified sources that 17" wheels
are a better option than 18" wheels. Has anyone upgraded brakes and can
you tell me what wheel diameter I need to mount to accommodate the
bigger brakes? If the 17" wheels give me a bit better ride and cushion
against the occasional pothole (and a bent rim or blown tire - or both)
can I fit the big brake rotors and 4 pot calipers in the 17" rims.? Any
experience with rim width and tire size and aspect ratio in stock wheel
wells? Any thoughts on great adhesion, braking and Quiet ride?

Any comment on handling (street only) between the 2 rim sizes.
