Don't know if anyone cares, but...fixed the problem with the rad fan on my car.  Replacement thermoswitch seems to have solved the problem.  Got the thermoswitch out of what looked to be a mid-late 80's Jetta, same size, seems to work like the old one did before it bit the dust.

Anyone know of any other parts that are interchangeable with other VW/Audi products (besides coolant caps and oil filler caps)? There are always more VW's than Audis at the wrecker.
