Stalling 88 80Q
Sounds like your potentiometer in your air flow plate is bad. I had the same
problem on a 90 model 90 5cyl. Replaced hi/lo switches, idle stabilizer, all
tune up items and filters with no fix to stall. (very expensive too)
Finally checked the potentiometer with a home made rig and a multimeter per
the specs in the manual and found it was off very slightly. Went to junk
yard and bought a mass airflow sensor plate with fuel distributor attached
for $80 (tested it real quick) and strapped it on. This fixed the problem
that a lot of money and "professionals" could not fix. If the computer does
not know exactly where the plate is ( i.e. a bad potentiometer output) then
it can't figure out how to idle the car. My car has idled perfectly since.
Good luck
