Valve guides for MC engine

I am installing new valve guides in my cyl. head.  I have two heads, a
 86 NA 5000 and one MC turbo head.  On the 86 NA all the guides
are pressed in equally and on the MC the intakes are in further than the
exhaust.  The Bentley saiz press them all the way in from the lifter
side.
If I followed Bentley  the guides would go in further than the
originals.
I got my guides from TPC and they have a collar on them whereas the
originals did not. The point is, is there a specific distance the guides
go in?
By the way the intake valve stems seem like they are bigger, am I right?
