Starter solenoid

Larry,

I used to have the same problem with a 1982 Isuzu. I would go down
to Napa and get another motor. Big bucks. Thankfully they had a good
warranty. The original motor lasted 10 yrs., then I seemed to need a
replacement every 18-24 months.

I called my favorite parts house for a solenoid. No luck. Then they
recommend the Standard Battery store in Spokane, Wa. ( I live 50 miles
away in Idaho). These guys do custom rebuilding on starters, alternators
and generators. They had a solenoid for my motor. It was $25-30, and was
in stock.

Maybe you have an unknown supplier in your area. Look in the yellow
pages under "batteries" or "auto electric". If not try these guys,
Standard Batteries 509-534-7879.

I just called them and they list a solenoid for that motor. The P/N is
14467 and is around $25. He suggested that you get the number off of the
starter motor, to be sure. But he was pretty sure that was the right
number.

Check your area, if not call these guys.
