RE: 1990 80Q Starter noise?

BTDT.
If you pull the starter, and open it. You will find a "pull-thing" 
(linked to the solenoid) that pulls the starter to the crankwheel.
If I remember correctly, there is two plastic-washers (ca.2" in dia.) 
on each side of the "pull-thing.." Press them apart with a 
screwdriver, and fill  up the space with grease.
(I used wheelbearing grease)
