Re: Camshaft Position Sensor - '95 S6



First of all yes the car has a cam position sensor.  It is mounted on the
front of the cylinder head,  the shutter wheel is mounted on the back of
the timing sprocket.  These do fail and usually create a hot restart
problem.  I have yet been able to find an aftermarket source for this.  Yes
the part is $400+,  sorry.  As far as replacement,  if you are good enough
to do a timing belt then it is within your means.  If not then take it to a
pro.
