Interstate Battery Responds, 90 200TQW requires vented battery

Hello,
I just got a reply back from Interstate, I had e-mailed their customer
service address about my problems getting the correct model.
His comments:
--------------
Dear Mr. Ritter, Thank you for contacting the home office of Interstate
Battery. I am sorry for the problem that you had in obtaining the correct
Interstate battery. The Battery Replacement Guide for Interstate Battery
shows that the correct battery for the Audi 1990 Quattro 200 is the MTP-91
and it does come with a vent tube in order to vent the gases from the
battery to the outside of the car. The MTP-91 is rated at 700 Cold Cranking
Amps. If you want to replace the battery that you purchased, please phone
me at 1-800-541-8419, extension 6672, so that I can help you. Sincerely,
Dan Lane, Customer Service

FWIW, I had tried for two days this week trying to get the correct
battery ordered from my local dealer with the vent connection kit. My
local guys just don't know what to do with this one and have been
unable to get the distributor to talk to them.
I phoned Dan at Interstate a little while ago, and he asssured me that
he will help straighten this mess out on monday. He knew about the
vent stuff and everything. It is nice to finally talk to the right
person. To be able to reach him on a Saturday afternoon is
outstanding!

David.
