Some advice...

Hello fellow enthusiasts.  I have found a 1992 Audi 100 for sale.  I 
probably will go inspect it on Sunday.  Can anyone say what to look out for 
in this car.  I know the earlier 5k/100 had problems with the steering rack. 
  Any reason why I shouldn't buy this car.  Also, I have never used a timing 
gun before.  I am borrowing a friends.  Can anyone briefly explain the use.  
I know the timing has to be off on my 1986 Coupe Gt.  I think as the light 
flashes the 0 on the flywheel must line up with the mark on the tranny 
window.  TIA
