RE: 1990 80Q AAN engine?

The AAN motor is from a 1992 - 1995.5 (US) S4. this is a 20 valve I-5 turbo
with one coil per spark plug (eliminates the distributor) 9.3:1 CR and
227/230 hp (US/Europe) and 258 pound/feet of torque at 1950 rpm. If that
isn't enough there is an over boost that kicks in from around 2500-4000 rpm
that boosts torque to around the 280 mark.

The AAN is one the most sophisticated of Audi's I-5 motors (very similar to
its siblings the S2 ABY and the RS2 ADU), but has a bad rap for transplants
because of the intake manifold design. The throttle body literally would
occupy the same location as the radiator on an urq, 4kq or Audi 90. This,
however, is a solvable problem. The simplicity of a single wiring harness
gives it an advantage in that respect.

With most any transplant it's the little things that eat your lunch and
dinner.
