Neato Sodium Filled Exhaust valves...
I found out how the sodium in the turbo exhaust valve works today. The
valves are hollow in the stem and filled with sodium. At Ambient air temp.,
the sodium is a solid, and a gap is left inside the opening of the valve so
it is not fully filled with sodium.. As the valve heats up, the sodium
liquifies and bounces from the valve stem down back to the base constantly
conducting heat away from the combustion chamber. Pretty cool, now I can see
why they are so expensive!
