RE: Rear speakers
My 4K has 6x9 Kenwoods in the back, they sound pretty good, need to replace
the fronts next (in my previous Coupe GT, I had a set of Infinity 4"
speakers in the front.)
Install of the 6x9's was by PO, but looks pretty easy. The back shelf
comes out real easy (how to get into a locked trunk in a junkyard is thru
the back panel.)
In both the Coupe and my present 4kcsq I have one Soundstream SPL 10 in a
small sealed box. Bout 150 watts going to it, in the Coupe I had a
Soundstream MC 245 to power whole system, sold the whole thing with the
car; in present car, Kenwood receiver powers full-range speakers, Kenwood
150 mono amp powers the sub. Both systems had a nice full sound, as I have
progressed from full volume boom (Used to have a VW Bug with 500 watts and
two Kicker 15's replacing the back seat, had to replace the generator with
an alternator because car would shut off completely at night on every big
bass note!!! This was 10 years ago, and people in town still remember that
bug, small town though!) to a more balanced sound in my old age of 29. Not
to say that a short cruise in a megaboomer isn't cool, I just don't have
the time to mess with it any more, it would be a waste for me now.
