i'm on the VW Vanagon/Eurovan list, and there is constant complaining of the 
"piston slap" lifter noise on these EV 5cyl motors...even on vans w/ low 
mileage.  apparently there was a recall too..  i dont usually follow the EV 
threads much, tho..
