Re: Boating with an S4
Here in Denmark a 44 type 200 QT 20V Avant in the papers
are noted as 3300 lbs corb weight (whitch seems to be to small) and
are alowed to tow 3750 lbs, if you have a trailer licens..
The hitch is an "original from Audi germany" of brand Westfalia capabel of
4180 lbs.
Some of the new'er models like S4 I5 are alowed 4000 lbs.
This hitch is reemovebl and really hidden when not in use.
You have to lay down on the ground to mount the electrical cord.
Due to the fat bumpers this is the only one to fit my 200
and the price: 2200$ compared to all other hitches 350$ is just ----
But no problems in towing horse or boat trailers. A turbo engine with
power from 2.000 rpm is fine for that job. The weak point
about boating is realy the missing low reduction gear as my RangeRover
have. You know the smell of clutch :-)
