    OK, I know just the guy you need to talk to.  No "I have heard or I 
think", he really knows what is up.  Actually, he does I5 conversions into 
Vanagons, even MC conversions.  He has a place in Livermore, Ca called 
Vanagon Projekt, his number is 925-606-8797, and he told me all about the 
conversion.  I know the crank goes for about $1k, let us know what you find 
out.  Tell him I gave you his number if you want, then he may know exactly 
where your coming from (fanatical Audi upgrade enthusiast to be specific!)
