Sounds like a load of crap to me. Question, did you delete the name of the
person that sent you that, or did they send it anonymously? If they responded to
your without their name, then I wouldn't put much credit in their opinion,
anytime I make a statement, I stand behind it, ready to defend my position. I
also try NOT to make generalizations about groups of people as the
generalizations are usually wrong and usually will piss off the majority of said
group.

I've worked on damn near every system in a modern car EXCEPT the ECU and the
transmissions. Perhaps that is the general experience on the list. Perhaps most
of the members of the QList have never cracked open their transmission, and
therefore cannot help you. I've posted questions before and didn't get any
replies either. In those cases I assume that people just don't have the
experience to help me out. At that point your best bet is to consult with a
local mechanic whom you trust to advise you on how to proceed.
