Yeah, i would agree on this one.  Since it sounds like you might have to 
replace it anyway with a used one, which shouldnt be all THAT expensive, 
might as well tear the old one apart to try to rebuild it.  What is the 
worst that you can do, force yourself to get a new one?

That is what i would do, i would try to rebuild it, and if successful, 
then i could share my experience with everyone else, but if not, then i 
would have to do what i would have done anyway, get another one....
