Oil Filters

Some years ago I took a hacksaw to a Fram, Purolator, and three
or four additional oil filters.

All were basically a single sheet of permeable fiberboard inside a
can - most with a string tied around them.

I had already seen a taken-apart Amsoil filter. Filtration element is
about 1 inch thick, and filters down under 15 microns. Every filter
has both a bypass valve and anti-drainback valve.

So that's all I use. Period. They cost about $8, give or take.
