Audi 80 ECON

Hi all,

I was browsing through someone's car brochure collection recently when I
noticed a Dutch 1985 Audi brochure for the 80, introducing the Audi 80
ECON. Apparently an economy-oriented version with the 4+E-gearbox and an
Econometer, narrow tyres and more fuel-saving stuff. Anyway, nothing
screams 'I'm cheap!' more than having a HUGE 'ECON' badge (same size as the
'80' badge) on your trunklid, so that might be the reason this version was
not a success.
I've seen Audi 80s in several versions here- C, D, CC, CL, CS, CD, SC and
E- but no ECON.

Any other European listers ever encountered this one?
