And the wonderful NA 1.6 diesel in the '86 80... 22 seconds 0-60 mph, top
speed (I think) 145 km/h (90 mph). They go on forever, but they're
_sloooooow_. I seem to recall it had something like 60 hp.
The turbodiesel version improved things a little- but until the 1.9TD
(pre-TDI) things were pretty traging on the diesel end. The TDI meant a
gigantic leap forward.
