almost in over my head
I was lucky enough to find an Audi coupe that had a good body, only one
small semi-serious dent, and paint that is still shiny...my friends '84
5000, (god bless it's soul, beautiful car, imported euro model, full
leather interior......all mint), had very oxidized paint. Now it's
sitting in a wrecker's yard out in Winnipeg, Manitoba, after a drunk
driver rear-ended us. We made it all across canada in that car, the
transmission cooler broke once though...that sure sucked. Oh my God! It
won't shift! Oh no! It won't go!
My interior just didn't survive very well, my seats are all aged,
stained and torn. I found a new set of beautiful seats at my local
wrecker, he offered them to me for $200 Canadian. They're out of an '86
Coupe GT, pretty much mint. Is this a fair value for the full set of
seats for ana Audi coupe? I know they are indentical to the seats in my
'82 coupe, so the only trouble will be installing the rear seat. Does
anyone know how to swap a rear seat out of one of these things,
hopefully without requiring any extreme tear down....
I'm like a little kid in a candy shop, I also decided to inquire about
various 5 cylinder engines they may have, and for $500 Canadian they'd
sell me almost any of the engines they had.
I have a feeling I may end up in over my head, it all starts when I look
for new bumbers, then I decide I may as well replace my seats.....then
who knows, engine......

Sounds a lot like me in high school. OK, college, too.....
