Check the bulbs first.  Then check the backup light switch.

The backup light switch is located on the transmission.  You can access it
from below the car.  Jack up the car and make sure you support the car
on sturdy jackstands before you get under.  Use an ohmmeter to check the
continuity of the switch when the gear lever is in reverse.
