Re: type 44 blower motor brushes

Steve:

Being a cheapskate, I did this on my '87 5KTQ. Took it to an electric motor
shop first. They couldn't find the correct brushes, so they gave it back to
me. I thought, "dummies." I then went to an electric supply house and
bought some brushes whose size was as close as they could find to what I
had. They didn't fit, so I filed them down until they did fit and installed
them on the blower motor. Took a bit of soldering.

It's worked fine ever since. Seems like the motor may not spin as fast as
it did originally, but it certainly moves a lot of air. Total cost was
under $10.00.

..course you *still* gotta take that stinkin' motor out !
