My dad actually swapped a jetta turbo diesel for the regular diesel in a
1982? vanagon. Went from undrivable to barely drivable. It would do 65
mph on level ground after the conversion. His newer ('96?) 2.5 liter I5
Eurovan is worlds away from that crappy Vanagon.
