George
Compress the spring first.then remove the nut and top mount, then unscrew the collar holding the strut in.

Do I need to compress the spring before I loosen the top nut? I have
everything loose from the strut except the top and bottom. The bottom
(ball joint) is no problem, however most struts I have seen are held to the
cas with 3 nuts, and a seperate nuts hold the assembly together. Audi does
both with one nut. So how do I get the strut out without killing myself?
