I rode in a _big_ two axle rig a few months ago. Popped the bonnet (a
two person job really) and inside was a Catterpillar brand diesel. The
intercooler was larger than the coolant radiator. It was about 4 to 5
feet across and at least 3 feet high. Definately air to air. I won't
even mention the turbo inlet size....

BTW, this thing was able to move it's own weight plus another 25,000 lbs
without even working up a sweat.
