Autocrossing a Quattro

Has anyone with experience autocrossing a Quattro experimented with locking
the diffs in this situation? Reason I ask is that I autocrossed my 4000
turbo quattro last weekend and was getting serious wheel spin on the inside
rear tire exiting corners. It was so bad that the tire smoke rivaled a 400hp
'69 Camaro on the course!! Needless to say, I lost a lot of time with this
display.

Is this the price to pay for a lot of torque or would the diff locks help?
I've been warned against using the diff locks on dry pavement, and did not
want to damage the drivetrain by doing so.

Thanks,
