Re: A/C help needed

I'm not familiar with the AC set-up on the 4kcsq, but most automotive
systems have a thermal cut-out switch which cycles the compressor to prevent
evaporator freeze-up. The switch is driven by a capillary tube inserted into
the evaporator core. The capillary tube senses the core temperature and
turns the switch off around 40 F. As the core heats up (air continues to
flow through it but the coolant is not), the switch turns back on, engaging
the compressor clutch.
If your evaporator is freezing up, this switch may be defective or
by-passed.
