Brake Regulator '86 4KQ
Hi all!
I'm working on the '86 4KQ again trying to improve the brakes.
The brakes have always been mushy with long pedal travel. Marginal to
the point of being unsafe. I now have all new pads and rotors well above
minimum spec. No change.
Today I replaced the master cylinder. ($99 from NAPA) Despite some
external corrosion, the old master cylinder looked like new. I think
it's been replaced recently.
Anyway... with everything bled properly.... no change in the braking!
I'm now suspecting the pressure regulator. Since the Bentley's does not
cover this in great detail... What is the proper procedure for using the
bleeder screw on the top of the regulator? Any other tests to confirm
this is my problem? Anybody want to buy a slightly used but obviously
working master cylinder?
Any suggestions appreciated!

I mention it has a 3.5 V8?)
