I think it is quite common for them to be stolen... similar to the VW bus 
logos... The Audi symbol is only held in by 2 or 3 tabs that are snapped in 
place.... Mine was removed when I was at college, and they were able to do it 
with out tripping the car alarm....  The logo itself to reorder costs like 
35-40$  dealer price...  I just went to a junk yard and got the whole grill 
for 15 bucks (of course, on the new one I epoxied it directly to the grill)..
