once hit one at 50mph in an '81 4000 and it got up and ran off into the
desert while I had to stop and pull out the front fender and airdam enough
so
they wouldn't rub on the tire. I ended up getting charged by the apparently
injury-free Javelina but that's another story...
Paula also hit one in an Acura Vigor and ended up doing $5k worth of damage
to her car whereas the Javelina ran into the desert uninjured. Fortunately,
it didn't charge her but she did say she could see it walking around in the
brush as she waited for the tow truck to arrive ... like I said, nasty
critters.

Those little buggars are in Texas to. A real problem is that when hit they
can get under you car and end up rolling it, or causing the vehicle to loose
control. They do however make good Barbecue...
