Yes, but what you forget is that here in the good ol' USA rallying ranks
right below lawn darts as a spectator sport. The term "(rally) spectator
car park" is an oxymoron here. Watching highly skilled drivers blasting
down forest roads at insane speeds in state of the art (in many cases)
vehicles just doesn't compare to watching good ol' boys go 'round in circles
in their low-tech NASCAR machines...

In the UK, the first job is usually looking after a spectator car
park.
After training and working your way right up (non-trivial) the
reward
can be a trackside position at the British Grand Prix.
(Dressed in Nomex and reflectant, carrying a 120-pound fire
extinguisher, in 100+ degree heat and _NOT_ allowed a beer!)
