Fortunately the fashion shows signs of abating here.  Roll up to the pub
for a Sunday lunchtime drink in one, and you're likely to get sneered
at.  We have a kind of 'synagogue' behaviour developing in parts of the
Home Counties, where people drive to within half a mile of the pub and
walk the rest to pretend they're 'locals'.
